WEB HOSTING
How
do I access my hosting control panel, where I can perform administrative tasks?
Simply visit https://www.yourdomain.com:8443/.
You will be required to enter your master username and password (or sub-users
may login to for restricted access/privileges).
If you would like your original username and password provided, an authorized contact should call our General Services Team (we do not email login information for security purposes).
Can I change my domain name?
The simplest way for us to
"change" your domain is to simply purchase
a new domain and our url forwarding with
email service. This will actually just setup a new web site and point
all web and email requests to your existing site/email accounts.
If, after the
"change", you do not intend to renew (keep
beyond its current expiration date) your current domain name or if for some reason you do not want customers
"seeing" the current domain anywhere on your site (in their address
bar, etc), we would recommend:
1. Purchasing the additional
site startup special for the new domain.
2. Upon receipt of the host account setup information from our general services
team, submit an update request regarding the transfer of your site from the
current domain to its new domain (simply request that the site be configured to
work on the new domain, completely independent from the old domain). In
doing so, please keep in mind that unless requested otherwise, they will not
migrate any spam filtering settings, traffic reporting software statistics/logs,
etc. And, even if requested it may not be possible (based upon the new
server setup, etc).
3. Submit your cancellation notice regarding your existing hosting
account. Should for some reason anything not have transferred properly, we
will still have 30 days to access the data from the old site/server. You
would then also have 30 days to notify customers, etc. Or, if you would
like to have your email and web requests forwarded to your new domain, you will
have 30 days to purchase our url forwarding
with email service, which can forward your current domain to your new domain
(you can purchase it sooner and we will just have the service start date for url forwarding
with email service begin when your hosting period ends). Please keep
in mind that in most cases, changing your existing hosting setup of your current
domain will mean the loss of logs/statistics, "starting over" in
generating leads through organic search results, among other items.
If you would like to order a change of
domain over phone or discuss your options further, please do not hesitate to call
us.
Where can I access
my traffic reporting software?
Simply go to:
https://www.yourdomain.com:8443
or
http://www.yourdomain.com/webstat/
or
http://www.yourdomain.com/plesk-stat/webstat/
You will be required to enter your
master account username and password.
How can I login via
FTP?
Using an FTP program, utilize the
following information:
Server Address: yourdomain.com
User Name: your
administrator user name
Password: your
administrator password
Directory: If you are uploading files for Pebblehaven to do work on/with,
you most likely have a "private" folder that you can put files
in. If you are uploading web pages and other files ready to be
viewed/accessible by the public, you most likely have a "httpdocs"
folder that you can put files in.
If you do not have an FTP program, you
may consider utilizing Internet Explorer (has one "built-in") or there
is also a free application for Firefox called FireFTP (just needs to be installed before it can be used). In the case of
Internet Explorer, you will simply enter "ftp://www.yourdomain.com"
in the address bar and you can "go from there".
When trying
to access my web site, I receive a message "Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this
server" or "Plesk Default Page". Why am I receiving this message?
The error message is most likely caused
by your account being past due.
To determine if your account is indeed
past due simply contact our Billing Team.
Another way is to see if any of our routine transactions have not recently
appeared on your credit card statements. The fastest way to resolve a past
due issue is to post updated credit card information on our secure server. If your account is past due, we will attempt to
bring your account up to date, and then reactivate services. If your
account is not past due, no charges will be applied to your account as a result
of your post. Instead, we will use your updated credit card information
the next time you incur charges.
If you are sure your account is not past
due, then this could be a server related issue that you should email to our Hosting Support Team.
Why are you
continuing to render hosting services, even though I did not renew my domain(s)?
We should "start" by
"confirming" that domain registration and hosting are two completely
separate services. For example, one can have hosting services without a
domain, and one can have a domain without hosting services. There are many
reasons why such situations/instances are not uncommon.
Next, per our service agreement, any
auto-renewing service such as web hosting will continue to renew until you
submit a cancellation
notice (domains, by default, do not auto-renew).
Next, we also had a
link below domain renewal notices that were sent to you
"confirming" what you should do if you do not wish to renew your
domain(s). Also, since you have/had auto-renewing services under the
domain(s) in question, you also received a voice
notification regarding the expiration of the domain and confirming "If a customer has live and auto-renewing hosting services under the domain in
question, we also call with a 1 day domain expiration notice. Thus, we are
calling to see if you would like to renew the domain...".
Lastly, please note that this process
has on many occasions saved a customers site/services from being deleted from
our servers when they unknowingly (were on vacation, and/or similar, when their
domains expired) did not renew their domains. If we had just/simply ceased
the services when the domain expired, they would not have had a site online once
the domain(s) is/was renewed.
Where
is disk space being utilized?
The simplest way to determine this is to
login to your hosting control
panel and then call someone in
our General Services Team (have them walk you through where you go,
etc). Or, just call someone in our General Services Team and ask them to
inform you while you are on the phone (no need to login to the hosting control
panel).
General Instructions:
On one server type, you simply login to
the hosting control
panel, and under the "Settings" tab you will see the total site
disk space usage. Then, you can click on "Users" and then
"Edit" to the right of any username (email account), and the following
screen will inform you the amount of space being utilized (total mb and
percentage used).
One another server type to view the usage by particular email
user(s) you simply login to the hosting control
panel, click on the domain in question (in the hosting control panel), then "Report", then select "Full Report" from the
drop-down. Then, you can view by mail names (email accounts) or database(s),
etc.
