Open Eudora
5.0 and choose
"Tools" from the menu bar.

Choose "Options".
We will use the example of
an account with Pebblehaven Company with the following account info:
Domain name:
xyz.com
Email
Address: info@xyz.com
Incoming Mail Server: mail.xyz.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.xyz.com
Userid:
abcdefg

In the column of icons on the
left side of the dialog box, select the "Getting Started" icon. Fill in
these boxes as follows:
Real name: Your
Name
Return address: info@xyz.com
Mail Server (Incoming): mail.xyz.com
Login Name: abcdefg
SMTP Server (Outgoing): mail.xyz.com

Now, in the column of icons on
the left side of the dialog box, select the "Checking Mail" icon. Verify that the MAIL SERVER and LOGIN NAME fields are the same as those entered in
step 3:
Mail Server (Incoming): mail.xyz.com
Login Name: abcdefg
Make sure the SEND ON CHECK box is
checked
Select REQUIRED, ALTERNATE PORT from the drop-down menu below SECURE SOCKETS WHEN RECEIVING.
Select the INCOMING MAIL icon in the left portion of the window.
Select POP for Server configuration.
Select Passwords for AUTHENTICATION STYLE.
Select the SENDING MAIL icon in the left portion of the window.

Now, in the column of icons on
the left side of the dialog box, select the "Sending Mail" icon. Fill in
these boxes as follows:
Return address: info@xyz.com
SMTP server: mail.xyz.com

Then click on
"OK" to save the settings.

Now to retrieve your mail, in the
Eudora 5.0 or 5.1 window, choose "File" from the menu bar, then select
"Check Mail".
