What/Who is Authorized?

Those authorized is the name and corresponding information provided to us upon creation of an account, and then superceded by any additions/modifications/removals made thereafter, by then authorized requests. For example, if you were the individual who created an account with us (placed the initial order), your name and corresponding information would be listed as authorized. If you specifically requested an additional party be added, both of your names and corresponding information (only what was provided) would be authorized. 

Domain(s) belong to an account, which has authorized contacts. If domain specific authorization is needed (one contact should not have access to specific domains within your organization), you must keep them in separate accounts. If you have multiple accounts, and request any adjustments to those listed as authorized, it will only be completed on the account(s) specifically mentioned/requested.

There is no "seniority" in terms of authorized contacts. For example, one authorized contact does not have any more access/ability than the next authorized contact on the account.

If your name is listed as authorized, this does not mean any email address that has your name in the from area (or similar), is authorized. Anyone can go to a free email service web site, such as Yahoo or Google, and create an account with any name. Therefore, when a request is made via email, only the actual from address is relevant/checked to determined if the request is authorized. We have many methods to ensure the senders email is not forged (for example, via message headers, examining the information found within, as well as comparing it with prior communications). If something appears suspicious, we will make contact with authorized contact(s) before proceeding with processing the request. The person's name appearing in the email, or anywhere else is not relevant. We also send an email confirmation when any request is processed, so in the extremely unlikely case a senders email address was forged but not detected as forged by us, the actual authorized contact would still receive confirmation of the change(s) made. Similarly, someone calling and stating they are a name of a contact listed as authorized is also invalid, as anyone could call and say they are any one. Instead, if someone calls and needs to make a request, they will have to become authorized through other means.

In addition, you are authorized anytime you are able to produce the password for the master user of the master domain in question (if applicable/exists). For example, if you call in and provide the account password, whether your name is listed on the account, or not, is irrelevant. You can always request the master account password be sent to any email address listed as authorized at the time of your request. We can also call any number listed as authorized and ask for the contact in question, and provide it to them over the phone. We cannot leave it on voicemails.

 

 


How can contacts be added/edit/removed?

Any of the methods below will work, so we list them in the order of what is typically easiest/quickest for you. In each case, you must provide the name and corresponding authorized information/contact(s) you would like added/edited/removed (and specify if they are to be added, etc).

Please note, if adding an authorized contact the following must be provided: first name, last name, phone number, and email address.

1) Send an email from an existing email address listed as authorized.

2) Send a fax on company letterhead, signed by a corporate officer, containing a copy of a government-issued photo I.D. (such as a driver's license).

 

 


How will I know when modifications have been completed?

An email is sent out to all authorized email addresses listed immediately prior to the modification(s) being made, in addition to any new authorized email addresses as of the modification being completed.

 

 


Can you provide me with the name/address (and/or other information) for an authorized contact on an account with you (ie. the name of whom is listed, what their email address is, etc)? 

We will not provide any information (and we will not get into what our customer does/did and/or does/did not want us to keep confidential... whether it be their main contact email address and/or mobile phone number, and/or similar).  However, if you are listed as authorized on an account, upon request we can certainly provide you with the information for other authorized contacts on that same account  (as you have access to any/all information for/on the account).  Any information that the account holder would like "others" (what we take as anyone not listed as authorized on an account) to have, we believe can/would be able to be found via their web site, a phone directory, and/or similar.  

"All in all", we take confidentiality and account security very seriously. And, seeing how simple it is to update those that are authorized, there is no reason not to have this security measure.
